home-made strawberry sorbet

makes me happy with its frosty crimson goodness!

and so simple; heat 2 punnets of strawberries and a tablespoon of raw sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. once the the berries have released all their juicy sauce spoon out the fruit (and eat hot with good vanilla icecream, yum!) and combine the remaining liquid with a splash of blackcurrant juice (optional), a teaspoon of arrowroot and mix over the stove until thick and smooth. if you like your strawberries with a bit of a punch you can squeeze in some fresh lemon or lime juice for a little extra tang. or, if it's your kind of thing, you can throw in some finely chopped mint, or basil. and it's ready to freeze! it doesn't make much, so if you aren't fussy about lumps you can leave the fruit in and blend it to make a thicker, more wholesome frozen fruit treat.
this recipe also serves as a great strawberry sauce, just serve as is without freezing ontop of cakes, yogurt or icecream!

now i'm off to devour my little pot of sorbet perfection..
